The New ACDA Conference App

ACDA has selected Guidebook as our new conference app platform. This affords us virtually endless customization to design the visual look of the app to work well for us! In addition, the user interface is extremely easy to use. Everything is cross linked and searchable. Here are some of the features you may find helpful:

The Activity Feed

Think of the Activity Feed as the social hub of the Conference. It’s where people can post about their experiences, share pictures, and catch general announcements and posts from our valued sponsors. You must set up a profile to use this feature.

The Full Schedule

Here you will find the complete schedule. It is filterable by track, all conference events, Honor Choir rehearsal schedules, Immersion Choir rehearsal schedules, Receptions and Gatherings, and Exhibitor Showcases. From here you can add events to you “personal “My Schedule”, the orange icon right below the Schedule icon. You can even create your own event and invite people to it!

People and Ensembles

Here you will find bios on conductors, ensembles, presenters, composers attending the composer fair, leadership, the National Staff, and the Conference Committee. All conductor and ensemble bios link to their Concert Sessions. All presenters link to their Interest Session. This also works in reverse from the Schedule feature.

Floor Plans and Maps

Every item in the schedule and Exhibitor listing is connected to a location. When you click on the location, it will bring up the relevant map and show you the location of that event or booth. The image is “pinchable” so you can zoom out and in to get your bearings. You can also open up the Exhibit Floor map and tap on a given booth to find out who is there. There is also a map of the city that shows all Conference hotels, performing venues, and the Street Car route.

Dining Options

An extensive list of restaurants in the Cincinnati area, most very close to Duke Energy Convention Center, our venues, and hotels. Each listing provides a brief description, a price point based on the Yelp page for that establishment, the restaurants phone number and webpage, and a location link that will open up a map. Icons give you a clue as to the type of food served.

Exhibitors

Our full list of Exhibitors is linked to specific locations on our Exhibit Floor in the Grand Ballroom and Lobby areas so you can find the company you are looking for fast! Contact information, descriptions, and links (when provided) are also present.

Connect

Looking to connect with another conference attendee? Search the attendee list and send them a message! You can even invite them to meet you.

How to Download the App

First, be sure your smart phone’s operating system is fully updated. Then, go to your appropriate app store and such for ACDA. It will be the first app that comes up. The App icon looks like this:

App Icon

After downloading the app, you will need to search for the Cincinnati Conference “Guide.” You may do this by tapping the “Find Guides” icon in the lower right corner. Search for ACDA2023.

The ACDA 2023: A Place of Belonging Guide will be the top option. Tap “Get,” and on the next screen, tap “DOWNLOAD GUIDE.” Once it’s downloaded, “DOWNLOAD GUIDE” will change to “OPEN.”

You can see the “DOWNLOAD GUIDE” option here

The default home screen will be our Activity Feed. To get to the main menu, tap the three line “hamburger” icon in the upper left hand corner and you should be all set!

Web Version

If you would like to look at the schedule on a larger screen, there is a web version of the schedule. If you set up a profile in the app (required to use features like My Schedule and the Activity Feed), you can use the same username (email address) and password to log in here.
