Rebecca Saltzman is the Choral Director at Simsbury High School, where she directs 5 curricular ensembles in addition to an extracurricular Gospel ensemble and three a cappella groups. She also serves as the head of the Simsbury High School Equity council and is the advisor to the school’s GSA. Additionally, Mrs. Saltzman is an adjunct faculty member at the Hartt School where she teaches their course on school choral programs and supervises the pre-service educator secondary choral teaching lab experience. Prior to her time in Simsbury, Mrs. Saltzman served as the choral director at Ramsey High School where she directed the award winning a cappella group “The Ram Jams.” Mrs. Saltzman holds a Masters Degree in Choral Music Education from Florida State University and her Bachelors of Music Education from Ithaca College. She is a frequent festival adjudicator and conference presenter in the tri-state area. She is an active member of both NAFME and ACDA and is currently serving as the ACDA Eastern Division Vocal Jazz and A cappella Repertoire and Resources Chair.
