“Time After Time” | ONE-NIGHT CHOIR w/ Matt Goldstein

Hey there – Matt here! Thank you for joining us for this moment of collective music-making. I am so psyched to be bringing together folks from so many corners of the ACDA & New England community for this very special One-Night Choir.

Here is a folder with both the sheet music, and part recordings/learning tapes for each voice part of “Time After Time”! (The part recordings should be up by Saturday, February 21st.)

PICKING A PART:

The arrangement is split into the following parts (if you’re new to this, the parts range from Soprano 1, the highest part, to Bass, the lowest. Listen to the part tracks and sing along to find what feels good!):

Soprano 1

Soprano 2

Alto 1

Alto 2

Tenor 1/2

Bass 1/2

Pick whichever part feels comfy/exciting to you! Any gender can sing any voice part. We affirm you and however you want to sing.

LISTENING TO THE LEARNING TRACKS:

We recommend listening to the FULL DEMO track, to get a sense of how all the parts come together. Then, pick a voice part and dive in! Each part gets to sing some nice, juicy lines, so hopefully we get a solid amount of folks on every part. The part tapes have the featured part isolated in the left ear, with the rest of the voices in the right ear for context. To isolate your part, simply remove your right headphone!

LEARNING THE SONG:

I encourage you to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the music ahead of our session. Ideally, enough of us come into the gathering feeling confident on our parts to support those of us that are feeling less confident. That way, we can spend our limited time together really diving into the joys of connection and expression in the music rather than simply teaching parts one by one. That being said, we’re just doing this for ourselves, so there’s no need to stress over it (and definitely no need to memorize it or get it “perfect”)! And it’s always easier to sing in person, when the rest of our part-buddies are singing the part with us. The community is here to support! Our primary intention here is to have fun and make great music.

Warmly,

Matt Goldstein
