A Message From Amanda Hanzlik

As I conclude my term as President of the ACDA Eastern Region, I do so with a heart overflowing with gratitude. Serving this extraordinary region over the past two years has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my professional life.

I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to work alongside exceptional people, who have given so generously of their time, talents, and hearts. Together, we have celebrated tremendous successes, navigated unexpected challenges, dreamed boldly, and continued to move our region forward with creativity, compassion, and hope.

Through it all, I have been continually reminded that leadership is never about one person; it is about relationships, collaborative vision, and the remarkable things that happen when passionate people come together in service of something larger than themselves.

What I will treasure most from this experience are the people who create our community! Visiting our state chapters was, without question, one of the very best parts of this journey. I had the privilege of visiting nine of our eleven chapters (Maine and Vermont, I promise, I am still coming for you!) Everywhere I traveled, I encountered extraordinary artistry, innovative thinking, joyful music-making, and, most importantly, deep and abiding care for one another. I left every visit deeply inspired and so proud of our community.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of leading, learning and creating alongside you these past two years. Serving as your President has certainly changed me for the better, and I leave this role more hopeful than ever because of each of you.

Thank you, 24–26 Executive Board, R&R Team and Conference Committee, we are forever bonded by this experience and I am just so grateful for all of you.

My sincere gratitude and well wishes to incoming President Penelope Cruz,  President-Elect Libby Gopal and the 26–28 team as they step into their new roles!

With Gratitude and Love,

Amanda Hanzlik
