
Peter Kadeli holds the Dom Mocquereau Chair in Liturgical Music at The Catholic University of America, where he serves as Head of Sacred Music and Director of Choral Activities. He is Conductor of the Peabody Hopkins Conservatory Choir at the Peabody Institute and Associate Conductor of the Grammy Award–winning The Washington Chorus. Kadeli is a second-place recipient of The American Prize in Choral Conducting (University Division).
Kadeli has conducted in major venues including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Chicago’s Harris Theater, Smetana Hall in Prague, and the Stiftung Mozarteum Großer Saal in Salzburg. As Associate Conductor of The Washington Chorus, he has supported performances with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the National Philharmonic, under conductors including Gianandrea Noseda, Jonathan Heyward, and Eugene Rogers.
At The Catholic University of America, he has expanded the national profile of the Chamber Choir through performances at Carnegie Hall, the Society for Catholic Liturgy National Conference, and South Carolina’s 250th anniversary celebration. The Chamber Choir recorded choral works by Sir James MacMillan for the Lilly Endowment–funded Project Welcoming Children in Worship. Kadeli teaches graduate choral conducting and serves as a Junior Fellow with the university’s Cardinal Gibbons Institute for Human Ecology, contributing to its Sacred Arts and Liturgical Studies initiative.
Kadeli earned a Doctor of Music in Choral Conducting from Indiana University, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Choral Music Education from George Mason University.
