Matthew Chi Lee is in his 9th year as Choir Director at John P. Stevens High School in Edison, NJ. The JPS Chamber Ensemble was selected to perform at the ACDA Eastern Regional Conference in Boston, Massachusetts in 2022 as well as the ACDA National Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2023. Chamber Ensemble was recipient of the Grand Prize and the Morten Lauridsen Prize at the Interkultur Sing ‘N’ Joy Princeton International in 2017. The J.P.S. A cappella Ensemble has also performed at the NAfME Eastern-Division Music Educators Conference.

Mr. Lee has managed and prepared various honor choirs throughout the state, including the North Jersey Regions Treble Choir, the Morris Area Honor Choir, NJ All-State Treble Choir and the NJ All-State Mixed Choir. Mr. Lee has conducted the Central Jersey Intermediate Treble Choir, the Central Jersey High School Treble Choir, Sussex County Honor Chorus, and the Connecticut Eastern Region High School Festival. Mr. Lee is a member of the NJ All-State Choral Procedures Board and also serves as the High School Youth Choirs R&R Chair for NJACDA. He also serves as Assistant Conductor for Christ Church in Summit, NJ and is on the roster of Elevation. He is proud to be joining the DEI Initiative team on the executive board of ACDA East.
