
Emily Crowe Sobotko is a New York City-based choral conductor, administrator, and mezzo-soprano. She serves as Assistant Director of the YNYC Treble Ensemble, having sung with the ensemble since 2019, and is a passionate advocate for SSAA and treble repertoire. As Director of Music Programs for Uncommon Schools, a high-performing charter organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap in urban schools, Emily oversees sixteen K – 12 music programs – coaching elementary, middle, and high school music teachers, developing curriculum, leading professional development, and managing the strategic growth of music programming across the network. She formerly served as choral teacher at the Brooklyn New School, where she worked with three youth ensembles and an adult chorus. Emily holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Lawrence University’s Conservatory and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education, and is a certified Kodály and Orff-Schulwerk teacher.
