Dr. Edryn J. Coleman is a choral conductor, educator, and author whose passion for inclusive music education spans full-time teaching experiences at every level, from elementary school through higher education. He currently teaches choir and piano at Oakland Mills High School in Columbia, MD, where his student-centered philosophy continues to inspire excellence. A sought-after guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician, Dr. Coleman’s choirs have performed at state and national conferences, including an Insight Session performance at the 2023 American Choral Directors Association National Conference. He serves as Eastern Region Membership Chair for ACDA and is a past President of the Maryland Choral Educators Association. Dr. Coleman holds degrees from Stillman College, Florida State University, and Shenandoah Conservatory. He is the co-author of Accessible and Beautiful: Repertoire for Mixed Voices to Encourage Connection and Growth published by Oxford University Press. His motto: “Teachers need students like pencils need erasers. I may be the final point; but I’m not always right!”
