Maddie Meier is a conductor, educator, and vocalist from New Jersey, dedicated to building strong, inclusive choral communities and developing young musicians through artistry and care. She is an Associate Conductor with the Princeton Girlchoir (Westrick Music Academy), where she directs the Grace Notes Choir (2nd–4th grades) and the Eighth Notes Choir (4th–5th grades), and Choral Music Director at Grover Middle School in the West Windsor–Plainsboro Regional School District of New Jersey, where she conducts treble and SATB choirs in grades 6–8, in addition to a 6th–8th grade auditioned tenor-bass ensemble.

Meier currently serves as K–8 Choir Co-Chair for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA), overseeing honor choir programming and regional professional development. She also recently served as Honor Choir Co-Chair for the 2026 ACDA Eastern Region High School SSAA Honor Choir.

Her conducting experience spans experienced high school and collegiate ensembles, as well as community children’s and adult choirs throughout the New York tristate area and across Pennsylvania. She has participated in conducting institutes at the Eastman School of Music, Georgia State University, and Michigan State University’s Choral Music Experience Institute. Her ensembles have earned recognition at state and regional levels.

Meier holds degrees from Montclair State University (summa cum laude) in Vocal Performance and German Language Studies with a minor in French. She completed a full-ride scholarship exchange at Kunstuniversität Graz in Austria and holds New Jersey teaching certification through Rutgers University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Michigan State University, where a significant portion of her graduate research focuses on adolescent choral pedagogy, ensemble building, and inclusive, developmentally responsive rehearsal practices for youth choirs. She has also presented on this research in academic and professional settings.

As a vocalist, she performs with the Philadelphia Symphonic Chorus and The Princeton Singers, and has also appeared as a soloist with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Her performance background informs her conducting, combining technical precision with expressive, text-driven musicianship.

She is committed to creating choral spaces where singers are challenged artistically, supported as individuals, and inspired to grow as confident, collaborative musicians.
