Chairperson: Melissa Malvar-Keylock
Melissa Malvar-Keylock is Director of Recruitment and Outreach at the American Boychoir School in Princeton, NJ, where she conducts an Apprentice Choir. She is in her seventh year as Associate Director of the Princeton Girlchoir, where she conducts the Semi-Tones and Grace Notes choirs. She is Founder of the Children Making a Difference benefit concert, which in six years has raised over $15,000 for non-profit organizations. Previously, Mrs. Malvar was Director of Satellite and After-School Programs with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, and taught public and private school choir, including K-12 vocal music and AP Music Theory. She recently joined the ACDA Eastern Division Board of Directors as Repertoire and Standards Chair for Boy’s Choir. Before this appointment, she served on the NJ board as R&S Chair for Children’s and Youth Choirs. She holds degrees from Wheaton College and Butler University, where she directed the collegiate Women’s Glee Club. Mrs. Malvar completed her Kodály studies at Capital University, and is listed in Who’s Who in American Women. Mrs. Malvar enjoys regularly serving as a guest clinician and presenter at choral conferences and festivals. Her choral compositions with co-writer Jill Friedersdorf have sold over 50,000 copies, and are published with Colla Voce, Chorister’s Guild, and Hal Leonard Publishing. Their songs are regularly performed at state, regional, and national choral festivals/conferences.
