Dear Eastern Division Junior High Honor Choir Participants and Chaperones, 

Congratulations again, on being selected for the 2012 Eastern Division Junior High Honor Choir!  My name is Dr. Sandra Babb, and I will be serving as your coordinator.  My job is to facilitate the entire honor choir experience as it happens in Providence, including checking you in, being at the rehearsals, supervising the needs of the honor choir at the hotel, and coordinating the final performance at the VMA on Saturday.  I will also be working closely with Dr. Judy Bowers, our distinguished conductor, and relating any communication from her to you.

In this mailing, you will receive your music packet, a rehearsal CD, a rehearsal schedule and any instructions you need prior to your arrival in Providence. Please begin rehearsing your music now, so that you are prepared with all pitches and rhythms learned before you get to Providence in February. A quick note regarding the repertoire: For the SSA piece, The Rhodora, only girls will sing, and for the TTB piece, Cover me with the Night, all boys will sing.

Your concert attire for the Junior High Honor Choir will be long black dress pants (please no jeans or skirts) with white, long sleeved buttoned down shirts, dark socks or hosiery and dark shoes.  It is an early afternoon concert with a morning dress rehearsal, and we will be walking to our performance venue.  It is chilly in Providence in February, so please plan accordingly.

Registration, all of the rehearsals, and meals will take place in the Narragansett Ballroom at the Westin, and the concert will be held at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
